Chair: Paul Vidmar is a junior at Iowa State University, majoring in Civil Engineering. Past College Republican experience includes serving as Vice-Chairman of the Iowa State University College Republicans, and member of the ISU College Republicans for three years now. Other political experience includes volunteering for the Republican Party of Iowa in the 2008, 2006, and 2004 election cycles. Also Vidmar served as a Resident Field Manager for the Romney for President campaign. Vidmar has served as the vice-president of Friley Residence Hall. Vidmar is currently in the Marine Corps Officer Platoon Leader Class program. Outside of politics Vidmar enjoys hunting, fishing, biking, working out, working on cars, listening to music, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals.
Co-Chair: Jason Covey is a junior in Political Sciences. Covey spent the ’08 election cycle interning for the Republican Party of Iowa in Ames, working on the McCain ticket, helping Congressmen Latham getting reelected, and helping local candidates in their campaigns. When not working in politics Covey spends his time umpiring little league, watching football (especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers), being involved in ISU Cigar Club. Covey devotes the rest of his spare time to his one true love: The Chicago Cubs.
Executive Director: Corey Becker is a senior majoring in political science. He also serves as Executive Director of the Iowa Federation of College Republicans. Before taking his position at ISU, Corey worked for the Fred Thompson campaign as the Student Coalition Chairman for the state of Iowa. He also serves as the President of the Iowa State University Cigar Club and prefers a good Partagas Black Label over any other cigar. Corey’s hobbies outside of politics include cigar smoking, Cubs games, grilling, getting up early on Saturday mornings for College Gameday, and reading about Theodore Roosevelt.
